History
Back in 1963, a beautiful vision was born. An artist named Masahisa Goi in Japan wanted peace for everyone. He believed love could heal the world. He asked people to recite “Peace and Love” every day at noon. His prayer went viral in his region.
By 1967, Goi’s movement spread to Hawaii and the United States. People gathered at noon to say the words together. That became the Peace and Love Proclamation. You can imagine large groups praying and singing for unity.
Finally, in 1997, a formal recognition arrived. The United Nations and local governments started honoring July 7 as International Peace & Love Day – July 7. Now it’s a global event. You celebrate it to spread hope and kindness worldwide.
